Our ruminating thoughts could be so pleasant and peaceful to be with, that we need no other companion. The flip side is that they could be so disturbing that we need a crowd or other noise to down the ones in our head.
When we do not like the circumstances around us, we want them to change at the wave of a magic wand. But that does not happen and we keep getting the same repeat patterns. We try to take some action and change the circumstances, but then our thoughts do not change. The same old thoughts, the same old circumstances will certainly give us the same old results. Desperation. Disappointment. All over again.
No amount of action will change our circumstances until our thinking changes. We have to change our thinking first before our actions produce the results we want. Nothing new happens outside until we take a call on dealing with our inside story because we act only in accordance with our thoughts.
Philippians 4:8 of the Bible tells us:
….If anything is excellent or praiseworthy….think about such things.
Are we yearning for something different – a new Life? Then we have to want it bad enough to choose deliberately, and think good thoughts. Or something which is more in alignment with what we want.
It sounds a bit tedious, but there is no short cut to this. Replace every unwanted, negative, same-patterned thought with positive ones, or noble or praiseworthy ones. Like we need practice for all things to be made perfect, we need to work on each thought, practice changing it for a better one, until we see the changes we need
The choice remains – with us.
PRAYER:
Dear Lord, We bring to You our old-patterned way of thinking and ask for a renewal in our thought processes and perceptions. We surrender all that holds us back and pray that we let go of the things that we cannot change. Thank You for being able to turn to You in our weakness.Your Grace fills us when we are exhausted in body and mind. Let us journey on with the firm Knowledge and Understanding that Your Presence, Power, Grace and Love always rests upon us. In Your Name. Amen.
God’s Love be with us all.
