To all you beautiful people from across the globe, warm greetings and love.
Snippets of Inspiration and Thoughts To Ponder Over, the topic being…
Effective Communication Benefits All.
A blind boy sat begging on the pavement. He had a board displayed in front of him which read, “I’m Blind. Please Help Me”. There was also a spread towel before him, to collect the coins that passers-by dropped down as alms. A gentleman, who was watching this closely, decided to change the situation. With the boy’s permission, he rewrote the words on the board as follows, “What a beautiful day it is! Unfortunately I’m unable to enjoy it, because I’m blind”.
The man then waited a few metres away, to see the response of the public. The new wordings moved the hearts of many people passing by, and thus, many coins started falling on the towel.
Why do you think there was a sudden change in the attitude of the passers-by?
For sure, the new words on the board must have tugged at the heartstrings of those who went by to that extent, that they thought, “Thank God! How lucky we are! Unlike the boy, at least we have perfect vision and can see the world and its beauty”. Suddenly they were thankful for their eyesight and thus they ended up helping the boy. A two-way benefit here.
So you see, just changing the words and using it effectively did the trick. Calculated and purposeful communication can always convince and motivate people. On the other hand, words used ineffectively, harshly or callously can also spoil situations and ruin relationships. Indecisive, vague and unclear instructions or words used in communication can also do more harm than good.
Now my question to you?
How do you use words in your daily routine? Take stock of yourself and assess each situation at hand. If needed, reframe your words on a positive note and watch your relationships grow.
As Tony Robbins has rightly said, “Communication Is Power. Those who have mastered its effective use can change their own experience of the world and the world’s experience of them. All behavior and feelings find their original roots in some form of communication.”
Think about it, ponder on it and work on your communication skills with fervor.
I wish you a great future ahead in communicating effectively and gaining positive relationships all over. Take care and a Big God bless.
