Forget what hurt you in the past, but never forget what it taught you. – Shannon L. Alder
If we were to keep track of the things that hurt us in a day, there would be no end to it. There is always someone to hurt us at the other end, and we who are the worst hit at this end. We weep and wail, but to no avail. These are the hard-core lessons that we need to master before we reach the pinnacle of Wisdom or Knowledge.
However, if all the hurt that we took on only taught us to hold onto grudges, seek revenge, not forgive or show compassion, to categorize people as good or bad, to distrust and be guarded with your feelings – then we have not learnt a thing. These lessons do not come to close our hearts. They are given to us to become more receptive as a human being, by developing compassion, learning to listen, seeking to understand instead of speculating, practicing empathy and developing conflict resolution through communication. If we dealt only with perfect people, how would we ever learn to spiritually evolve?”
Life is a hard task master, but it does us good. We are refined and slowly start recognizing the grain from the chaff.
2 Corinthians 1:3 of the Bible tells us:
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of all Compassion and God of all Comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort that we ourselves have received from God.
What hurts us is what heals us. – Paulo Coelho
If we are ever to achieve the dreams that we have in our hearts, we have to be willing to learn from the past. The things we have done. The mistakes made. The people that hurt us before. These are all the things of the past that we cannot simply go back and change. So let us not waste our time trying to. To be better than we were in the past by making a solid attempt at living righteous, inspired, dedicated and courageous lives, with each passing day.
May we learn lessons from the old, and never be afraid to try and conquer what is before us that may seem new.
Healing from all our past leftovers probably takes a long time, but for sure, we will heal.
When we are healed, we must be a source of inspiration to all. Especially to those who need our comforting hands on their shoulders. That is the greatest humanitarian service we need to fulfill whenever and wherever we can.

To all those loved ones who hurt a lot on the inside, but do not show it out, for those who know not where to turn to for comfort, for those who are under the spell of fear or worry, this prayer is for you. Be comforted with the tender Love and Compassion of the Lord.
Dear Lord, We pray for those who are hurting, grieving or weeping. Comfort them with Your Warmth and Tender Loving Care. We also Pray for those struggling with fear and worry at every turn. We lay down every burden, every care at Your feet. Heal us, Relieve us and Restore us. Fill us with Fresh Grace. In Your Name. Amen.
God bless us all with His Abundant Grace.
