Truthful Lips endure forever, but a lying tongue lasts only for a moment. Proverbs 12:19
Do you not get confused reading about ‘Sweet Lies’ and ‘White Lies’ and then see what the Bible has to tell us? That a ‘lying tongue’ lasts only for a moment? Well, when we were young we were always taught to speak nothing but the truth. But somewhere along the way, we saw that speaking out small, little lies to get what we wanted was fine. Harmless little lies to get out from the ensuing punishments or to slip out of a situation.
Once started, these little lies can have a chain-reaction effect and in the end, we find ourselves devastated by them.
Then there is no turning back.
Now, to our utter dismay, we find that ‘Lying’ is a normal act and forms part of the daily routine in everyone’s Life. In fact we are all ‘living out lies’. The world has forgotten what Truth seems like. In spite of the fact that there are people who are advocating and fighting for Truth and Justice, their voices never seem to be heard in the humdrum and loud echoes of Living Lies and Injustice.
In this season of Prayer, let us ponder over these situations when we may be drawn in or forced to tell a lie in a given situation. Let these situations never come up before us. May we stick on to Truth as we have always stood by it. Let us set examples to those coming behind us. Truth and Only Truth will Triumph in the end.
May this be a part of the prayer we voice out when we seek spiritual renewal.
PRAYER:
Dear Lord
Help us all to see this time of focused prayer for our different needs as a time for spiritual renewal. Bless each one of us to reach a new level of experiencing Your Grace. In Your Name. Amen.
God bless and fill us all with His Ever Renewing Energy!
