Meditation or prayer brings calmness to our whole being. Proven beyond doubt. This calmness brings with it so many positive emotions that it is worth striving for it in all circumstances. For thousands of years, writers, poets, philosophers and theologians have been lecturing on different methods or techniques for silencing the noise within us. They all came to more or less the same conclusion that peace of mind can only be attained by subduing the ramblings of the mind, even if it was for a very short time.
And that can happen only in a state of meditation or deep and sincere prayer.
In the olden days, meditation was used to find enlightenment. Today, meditation is seen as an effective remedy to deal with the stresses of daily life. To address the conflict in our mind and in society too. Meditation is the best way to take deep rest and be alert at the same time. It is a skill that calms the mind and allows you to get in touch with your inner self. Sitting still with ourselves for a few minutes, we experience precious inner peace that takes us to the core of our being.
Practicing meditation regularly alleviates you from stress-related problems, deeply relaxes the mind and rejuvenates the system.
Prayer is at a different level altogether, but both meditation and prayer bring the much needed peace we search for.
“The more regularly and the more deeply you meditate, the sooner you will find yourself acting always from a center of peace.”
Proverbs 12:20 of the Bible says:
There is deceit in the hearts of those who plot evil, but Joy For Those Who Promote Peace.
‘Calm is the magic elixir that brings you to a place of balance, harmony, and peace’. Donald Altman
The last half of Proverbs 12:20 tells us that those who promote peace shall have joy. Matthew 5:9 tells us, “Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.” We are blessed when we pursue peace and counsel others to walk in peace. Those who work towards bringing serenity and calmness around them, are very peaceful themselves on the inside. Their only aim is to bring harmony to all things around them – restoring the Balance of Life.
When asked about the subject of world peace, Mother Teresa said that to give priority to family and loving your own family would bring great changes in the world. She said that even this small action could have a massive impact on relationships and the promotion of peace.
Jesus says in John 16:33: “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”
Prayer:
To all those beautiful souls who sincerely wish for harmony and in their families and in every relationship, this short prayer is for you.
Dear Lord, We welcome You into our homes. Be with us, stay close to us in the family. Let there be Peace as Your Presence fills all around. Guard each one of us, our comings and our goings. Let none go astray, Lord. Strengthen our family lives: may we be bonded more and more in Your Love. Fill us with Your Joy. In Your Name. Amen.
God bless and fill us all with His Peace, Joy and Love.
