Our passionate topics of conversation usually are the everyday spiraling prices, exorbitant price tags, heavy purchases and all about money. We get our brains filled with such burdensome thoughts. The reason, we say, is because of our worry about our bleak finances. But think about the stress we face ourselves. Life could be so much more joyful if we knew how to simplify our needs.
When life gets too fast, too cluttered, too deadline oriented, just remember that there are still other things in life that will give joy, happiness and contentment. Our inner voices may prompt us to stop and think for a moment about where our lives are headed to. That peaceful place where we will be in harmony with the perfect timing of all Creation. Listen to that voice. Get back to the simple pleasures of life and leave the price tags from your mind for a while.
Luke 12:14 in the Bible says:
” Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed: a man’s life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions.”
Jesus himself warns the disciples about the futility of storing up possessions on Earth. He talks in parables about a rich man who has planned to store grain in his barns and enjoy the riches for the rest of his life, but, what if his Life is taken away suddenly? Who would enjoy the stored-up possessions? Not the rich man, anyway.
So get close to God and submit to Him. He will take care of all our needs..
All that we prepare and store up for ourselves in excess here is of no use, for life is uncertain, always.
PRAYER:
Dear Lord, Thank you for this awesome life with so much splendor around us. We fail to notice the sheer magic of our surroundings simply because we are caught up in the whirlpool of amassing more and more for ourselves. Forgive us, Lord, for reducing our lives to being money-oriented and tagging everything we see, with a price. Help us change our perspectives and understand that there are far more precious things for us to experience than money. May we enjoy the world around us with all the free gifts of fresh air, sunshine, rain, love, happiness, loved ones, friends, family and lots more. Fill us with Your Wisdom and Humility. In Your Name. Amen.
