Stand up for what is right, even if means standing alone.
Yes, it takes more than mere guts and courage to stand up for the Truth, because that means you will have to stand alone. There will not be many partakers with you. There will be many in the crowd against you and many who will probably leave you and join the crowd. You might be left all alone.
And being left alone really hurts.
But if you know something to be the Truth, stick onto it, come what may. Ultimately, (even if does take more time than usual), Truth will win.
It is worth the different path that you choose. It is worth all the brickbats that you receive. To be steadfast, firm, rooted, grounded, and level headed enough to stand up for the Truth, is a rare quality these days.
The mob mentality is in vogue now. But since there is no consistency in crowds, ideas keep changing and so do people. The race is on for glitz and glamour and lies, which never lasts long.
So stand apart, like a rare gem, with an integrity and a crystal-clear character of you own. You will never regret it.
2 Timothy 1:7 of the Bible says:
For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love and a sound mind.
The biblical reference is to Paul trying to encourage Timothy over his spiritual weakness and imbibe him with the strength needed to carry on the work before him. Paul urges Timothy to stand strong. Rather than fear, God has given a spirit or attitude of “power and love and self-control.”
This is not only with reference to any single person from the Bible.
This is an affirmation that ‘we’ need to be reminding ourselves about, all the time, even today. When we feel fear creeping over us, when we press the panic button ourselves and freeze into immobility, we need to constantly remind ourselves that we have a mighty, mighty God who has equipped us wonderfully well for all trials with Power, Love and a Sound Mind.
Being vast topics in themselves, let it suffice for me to say that we have tremendous Power within us, but to realize that Power, we need the guidance and help from the Spirit. It cannot be written out or expressed in words.
A journey along with the Spirit needs to be ‘experienced’ by each one of us.
May The Lord guide you into that beautiful journey.
Let this be a prayer of assurance …
Dear Lord.
Thank you for placing in me a sound mind, love and power enough to take up responsibility for my life and all that I am. I know I am not alone, for You are with me. Your rod and Your staff they comfort me and that You will be with me all the days of my life. In Your Name. Amen.
God bless you and equip you with the Power from on High to lead a bold and fearless Life.
