‘Survival of the fittest’ and ‘ Just surviving’ are all phrases that catch up a place in our daily life conversations. To survive, we need the basic necessities of Life. But when we are faced with the worst trials of Life, its a different set of rules altogether. Sometimes we will have to survive in bizarre conditions. That is the test set out for us.
Most of us survive in a way far beyond our own expectations. It is inbuilt in us – the need to survive, and so we will.
Psalm 118:18 of the Bible tells us:
The Lord has disciplined me severely. But He has not given me over to Death.
The psalmist had been greatly afflicted, and he now looked upon his affliction in the light of a fatherly chastisement or correction. It had been a severe trial, and he was not insensible to its severity, though he regarded it as something which was for his own good.
All trials work out for our own good, though going through them is such an excruciating task. But we must endure.
With God taking care of us so much, we will come out successful through all the tests of Life that He has in store for us. We will surely emerge out as the Winners!
PRAYER:
Dear Lord, We are weary from running this race of Life and from trying to outrun it. More than outrunning each other, we understand that we tire too easily and that we need the endurance to face each trial. Fill in us a good measure of Your steadfast Love, Strength to bear all that comes our way and the firm Trust that will make us rely on You and thus turn us into winners. We thank You for the ultimate Joy that awaits us. In Your Name. Amen.
